The outside is trying to look like old money. It looks like an elementary school instead. Apparently the interior is trying to look Art Deco, but it comes off as Art Deco cliché. Art Deco is about amazing details, and this completely misses the mark. I see this as a large pile of tacky and tasteless.

Looks like an asylum inside. Just bland and smooth. NO texture to this place. The outside looks very nice but not 18 mill. nice. I am going to guess this is another mcmansion built around london designed to cater to tasteless Russians. I see this as a non starter.

$19 million for dank, cold and dreary England?
Excuse me while I am down at my house in the Bahamas with an extra $11 million in my pocket…

Dank, cold and dreary England, meh, has its moments, but not as cosy as southern California or Florida! I agree the house is bland. I should qualify my earlier statement “amazing”. By comparison to other UK projects of this size that Ive seen, it sets the bar. Heres another one, Golden Hill ( http://www.aandbhomes.com/Goldenhill_main.htm ) Expensive, spacious, lots of land, but vacuous. No style or panache. Likewise with Updown (YUK!). Im expecting sumptuous luxury and the finest detailing and craftsmanship for 10million, not precision engineering. I want to know its a unique creation, not how well someone can work a CNC milling machine. White walls just dont do it for me. There are cheaper padded white cells available. But i am glad to see this house comes with its own 40kW Ground Source Heat pump… gonna need it for the dank and cold! 😉

A very odd looking house inside and out. The exterior really didn’t need those pointed gables in the front and rear. The interior does look like it is going for Art Deco, but as Grrrowler said, the details simply do not convey the drama that Art Deco requires. Kitchen looks nice. You couldn’t pay me to use that freaky built-in toilet.

    Cold. Lifeless. Sterile.

I’m not a fan…and I had the same thought about the exterior as Grrrowler…it definitely looks like some kind of public building…no personality whatsoever.

The way the home is finished is a shame, because the floor plan looks half-decent, as far as British homes go (and bearing in mind the differences in culture that cause me to feel British homes are awkward in general). The only odd part of the plan is that one of the master baths connects directly to a secondary bedroom that already has its own ensuite.
