I like it as-is, minus the kitchen, office and decor in most rooms.

Old main line estate in an old main line neighborhood. Great home, classic lines. The decorating is ridiculous but the bones of the house are solid. The lot is fantastic. This house sits in the middle of a large wooded lot. I doubt you can even see another house from the property. This is a classic mansion in one of the best old money neighborhoods in the country. Now if you can get a membership to the Merion Cricket Club you would be good to go.

It’s a classic, beautiful, and timeless house, with an atrocious interior. It could be easily, and expensively, fixed, and you can’t beat a classic estate in an incredible area.

I love it. It does need redecorating, but this is a really fantastic starting point.
You can really feel the history in this place, and I think it would be easy to make some sympathetic updates. The kitchen can be totally gutted and redone since there’s nothing original in there anyway, and the rest of the home would be easy to sort out, as most of what I don’t like revolves around furniture and such. I actually really like the green paneling in the office, I’d keep it.

Outside is just about perfect. I’d tear up the asphalt driveway in the entry courtyard and put something more attractive down in its place, but otherwise it’s picture perfect. Can’t go wrong with an honestly historic estate on the Main Line.
