I know this house is about to get hated on but I like it. I like the boxy deeply gothic frankenstein haunted look to the place. This is not a house for fancy people. It is just a big solid scary looking box and I like it. We used to have a house like this behind us in Denver but they had a tower as well. It is not for everyone but if you have dreams of being a mad scientist or a reclusive medieval vampire this is the place for you. I am not sure why the interior decorator tried to lighten up and modernize the place. It is out of character for this kind of house. This house needs to be decorated with and early heavy metal stoner motif.

I agree with rob on one thing; the interior and exterior really do not go together. The interior is very tract-home wish but with odder room layouts (that kitchen is terrible). The exterior isn’t bad, and I actually think it will age quite well.

Agreed that the interior and exterior don’t go together. I like some of the rooms and think they could look good (properly decorated) in another house, but most aren’t anything special. The kitchen layout is a disaster.

The exterior isn’t bad, but it’s also nothing special. I look at it and think that that the “Tudor” elements were something of an afterthought. The builder might just have easily decided to make it French by changing a few things. I actually like the massing of the house from the front, but don’t like that both brick and stone were used; one or the other should have been chosen.

Inside is beige and boring, outside is unbalanced and awkward. Add to that the almost complete lack of any kind of landscaping and it’s easy for me to pass on this.

I do agree 100% with Grrrowler that the Tudor elements look like afterthoughts. I could picture this in a brochure for a mass-produced subdivision where there’s another elevation with Colonial elements, another elevation with French elements, and so on…
