The interior is very much European contemporary. I can’t help but think of Ikea when I see this.

Taken as a whole, I hate the exterior. Up close, I like some of the exterior details. Unfortunately the only way to take the house is as a whole. The interior is entirely predictable. Instead of an Ikea vibe, I get a Scan Design vibe, which is only slightly better. There are some interesting details, but overall it’s pretty forgettable.

I gotta say I really really like this house. The architect has done a brilliant job of situating this on such a narrow lot and still coming through with that Southern ideal of a private urban garden. I agree that the decorating is a little predictable but I bet this feels really refreshing after spending all day in an historic district. I love the old Southern houses but this would be a nice break from the unrelenting heavy antebellum theme that you find in Savannah and Charleston. I bet this is going to be one of the most popular houses in the neighborhood for neighbors to come over to and hang out in.
