Not bad at all. I love the woodwork throughout. Kitchen and master bedroom need help. Exterior is missing that special something though…

The location of the staircase is odd.

I have a serious soft spot for the historic mansions of the Main Line. The setting is very pretty and they’re impressive in a way only the old money mansions can be…regal and imposing without the slightest bit of bombast. So I love the setting and the exterior of this place.

I’m liking the interior for the most part as well. Daniel beat me to saying the kitchen and master bedroom (and bathroom) need help, which they surely do. The woodwork is really breathtaking throughout, and that’s one area where the interior lives up to the Main Line setting. Most everything else looks very good as well. With some freshening in the aforementioned areas, this could be very very good indeed. Overall I like it a lot, but as I said before, I am partial to this kind of property.

I love the exterior. The style, combined with the patina of its age, would almost make this a dream home from the outside for me. I do see what Daniel means by it’s missing something, and for me that is some overhang on the roof. I would like it with a little overhang, plus it would have been a way to introduce a few more details.

The interior a complete disappointment. It’s way too stuffy and impersonal and most of it ends up looking like the public rooms in a hotel. And, just how many ceramic greyhounds do one house need? Was the owner on Wheel of Fortune in the 80s and ended up with them after going “shopping” on the show? The kitchen looks very dated and needs to be started from scratch. In fact, all of the decor should be renewed; there is some amazing woodwork and details in the house and with the right decor it could be stunning.

I love the main line mansions as well, but something is off on this one. It feels dated and overblown. I am trying to imagine who would live for any length of time in something this musty without becoming musty themselves. I like the exterior, but would call in a decorator and redo the whole interior. That being said, overall this is a great little estate.
