My goodness that’s a ferocious shade of beige. Pretty ho-hum house. If it wasn’t for the wood beams and half-assed groin vault ceilings in some rooms, I’d say this would be a run-of-the-mill cookie cutter. That convention center inspired basement is quite humorous (and humongous).

To continue Daniel’s comment about the beige, apparently the builder/decorator got a special quantity discount on the color, and the proceeded to use it everywhere. The picture of the entrance hall from the front door interested me, but the rest of the pictures bored me. The basement is pretty ludicrous, but I supposed if someone wants a ballroom it would work.

I like the location of the elevator.

Okay…it’s located in a hallway…where else would it be? Is that really the only thought you have on the home?

It’s 2011. We have apps for smart phones that cover everything from advice on your stock portfolio to tips on how to wipe your ass, we have surgeons that can perform surgery via robot from half-way around the world, we have supercars capable of over 250 mph, we have voice-recognition systems that can actively translate what we’re saying into other languages, and we have televisions that can show movies in 3D WITHOUT the dorky glasses….

But APPARENTLY, a realtor that’s listing a 9 MILLION dollar home can’t use a $150 camera to take and display pictures that are bigger than a god-damn postage stamp? F***ING GET WITH IT!!

From what I can SEE, this is an underwhelming home, but it would be GREAT if they could get with the times and take advantage of the wonderful resources we have in multimedia, because this is not cutting it.

Pretty standard stuff here. I like it – I’m just not in love with it. The ballroom looks a lot like a mid-grade hotel I used to work for. The ballroom is more utilitarian than luxurious which I appreciate. It’s useful if you host parties or events, but I’d probably convert it into something else. I was wondering what that strange door in the hallway was. That’s the elevator? Personally it’s a strange location. That’s a great spot for a secret closet/stairwell or a vault. Overall I give it a B-.

I’m guessing that the beige is to match the dirt-yellow grass hills of Shady Canyon. I was there recently and I’m still trying to blink the color from my eyes. Yellow homes, yellow hills, yuck.
