The last time we talked about the well-known Updown Court estate, it was heaved back onto the market in June of this year with a price tag of £75,000,000 or $123,120,000.  After being on and off market for 6 long years, with a listing high of $143.5 million, it now has a new price tag…..$65,000,000. That’s right. The 50,000 square foot mega estate can be yours for just $65 million, which some might consider a bargain. The lavish estate is located in the Surrey village of Windlesham in the United Kingdom, which is about an hour away from London. It is situated on 58 acres of land and has a $6 million marble heated driveway and a total of 103 rooms which include 24 bedrooms each with their own marble bathroom, two lane bowling alley, five swimming pools, squash court, tennis court, wine cellar, 50 seat home theater and it’s own panic room.

And it’s still one of the most overpriced and over-hyped homes in the world. Drop the price to $20 million and you may see a sold sign. However, the place really isn’t that great other than the fact it is huge. But the design is horrible and it feels extremely cheap throughout, minus the gorgeous marble. Such a waste.

I can not believe the woman bowling in high heels. Also, not counting land costs, what do you guys think it cost to build the house.

I would say probably $30 million to build. It may be poorly designed (i.e ugly), but it uses a lot of high end material.

To think that even if I won the Powerball this week, I still could not purchase this home with the proceeds after taxes.

That is how I know this home is way too expensive.

No matter how many high end materials were used, it’s just just horribly ugly. Square footage is great, but only if it’s inside a beautiful house.

I’ve spoken with a person at Updown Court, they had “a couple of near misses”, so it nearly got sold at £70 million.

“The mansion no one wanted…” yeah I can certainly see why, it is horribly COLD inside that place. Nothing warm or anything, just cold and white and cheap-looking too.

That’s TV news for you: Like this mass: lots of ‘glitter,’ no real substance.
