TWELVE MILLLLLLLLLLLLION DOLLARS FOR A PARTIALLY FINISHED MCMANSION.

If ANY one on EARTH needs more proof that as far as the luxury real estate “Asylum” is concernced, it’s BEING RUN BY THE INMATES, then they’re LITERALLY HOPELESS.

I don’t think the house is particularly attractive. The lot itself isn’t bad, and $12 million on the north shore of Long Island, less than an hour from midtown Manhattan, doesn’t seem out of line. Still, I would rather pay less for an empty lot and start from scratch on my own house.

I cannot really say much about this place, as it is not finished and I can’t get an impression of it. It is, however, in a fantastic neighborhood! Just binged it and that whole peninsula is covered in some great estate homes. This must have been a gilded age stomping ground in the 20-30’s. Did Kenny feature that house with the massive gardens on here? It seems familiar to me but I can’t remember where I have seen it before. I originally lauged at the twelve million but based on the neighborhood that might be a in the right range.

Ps. Just wikied it and this is the neighborhood where “The Great Gatsby” was set. I guess that explains all the great estates.

Anyone know the history of this deal?
Is it a foreclosure or did the guy run out of money, etc?

It’s a short sale but not in foreclosure yet, so anything could have happened.

Nevermind…scratch that. I read something newer that says it’s not a short sale.
