Oliver Cope Architect is an award-wining architectural design firm located in New York City that specializes in classically American homes in a variety of historical styles. They designed trader Steven Schonfeld’s $90 million estate in Old Westbury, NY (picture #1). Steven’s estate boats a massive main house, guest house, tennis and basketball courts, swimming pool and a 9-hole golf course. It’s situated right next to the New York Institute of Technology.

Homes #2 and 3 are very nice. Home #1 seems very sterile. How did the $90 million figure come about? Appraised, for sale, property appraiser?
I grew up in Old Westbury, I’de love to know the address. As to the 90 mil price, I have a 2004 chevy pick up I am selling for 95 mil, so if he wants it just write a check for 5 mil and sign over the house, and the truck is yours.
I like the house in picture #4 but I don’t usually like that style. Hate the 2nd and 3rd house, but house #1 is nice. Overall I guess I am not a fan of Oliver Cope.
The second home is quite remarkable. Bing it on centerville in long island. The third home is the former estate of Billy Joel.
Some of the houses aren’t quite my style, but all of them are very nice. I didn’t see one house on their website that I wasn’t mildly in love with.
No surprise – my favorite is the shingle style home. My only problem with it is that it looks a little large. It’s too overwhelming to the eye. I like it when traditional homes don’t show their size from the road. I’d rather have a deep home than a wide palatial home. Not a deal breaker though…
Anyway… very nice! I’d put these guys on my short list of potential architects if I was building my own mansion.
