Not bad at all. Finally a home in Texas with some character. I love the overgrown look of the outside, but would worry about critters. The living room is nice and huge, but a little church-like. The bed with the red comforter in the listing looks like it is hiding a double-wide casket underneath it. Price seems very fair, but where is Fairview?

I like the wooded setting. Some of the stone exterior is nice too. The inside is where it falls apart for me. I like some elements of some rooms, like the great room, but then there are elements like that ludicrous fireplace surround. Other rooms just fall flat. The faux finishes are overbearing, and there should have been more stone elements incorporated into the interior, except in the master bath where there are to many types of stone in one small space. The cabinetry in the bath and kitchen looks very very cheap. I also think the wooden shutters have been overused, to a detrimental effect. At least it has a round table!

The exterior is off the charts for me, absolutely phenomenal. The setting is just beautiful, the only concern I’d have is how close the property is to the road that runs behind it….I’d like more of a buffer.

Inside is mostly attractive, that great room is very impressive. It’s unfortunate that just about every room in the house has the same wall treatment (it looks like wallpaper in some, but textured finish in others, can’t tell). It needs more variation in color. I couldn’t for the life of me find on the listing site how old the home is, but judging by the kitchen is looks like late ’80s/early ’90s. It’s odd, because the fridge is modern but the wall ovens look original (or maybe I just can’t see them well enough). Regardless the kitchen could use some renovation. Overall though, I really really like place. The low price suggests that Fairview might be out in the sticks.

It’s actually a pretty good location. A few miles from the Central Expressway, but far enough into the “sticks” for peace and quiet. A real country like atmosphere out there.

Stunning exterior. Love the roof with the multicolored stone covering. Interior needs to be themed down a little. Going a little overboard with the whole castle theme, but this home has a lot of classic elements that can be converted to any style. Need to do something about all the beige stonework in the house. It is a little too bland. t

Fairview is a nice community with one of the best school districts in the country. A lovely house at a very reasonable price.
