Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have increased the asking price of their huge Beverly Hills, CA compound by $8 million to a whopping $63 million! The couple heaved the property onto the market back in June for $55 million. The modern Compound features an approximate 9,200 square foot main house, plus two guest houses/studios (with a total of approximately 15,000 square feet), and another full separate 3 bedroom house, which can function as a additional guest house for the estate or a separate home office. It is situated on over 3 acres and boasts incredible grounds with an infinity edge swimming pool and formal gardens. In this type of market, you usually see people reduce the asking price of their homes, but I guess Ellen and Portia have a different plan.

Hmm. A little odd, but since Jennifer Aniston sold her home for $38 million or so, I guess it isn’t that shocking. I wouldn’t pay a quarter of the asking price for either home.

    I mean why not?
If it did not sell at $55 million, then of course you should raise it to $63 million…

Um, OK. I guess the logic is that they may have to take a 10-20% mark down from the asking price, so raise the asking price so that it’s what they want after the discount. That makes perfect sense…doesn’t it…?

The only thing I can think of is it’s to get more attention on the house hopefully finding someone who will get a “deal” by negotiating the price dow by half. 🙂

Their real estate agent must be from Greenwich.

Grossly over priced. They overpaid for all the parcels. Makes “The Manor” look like a bargain.

They are playing a game here for publicity. I guarantee the realtor has been authorized to take offers significantly lower than this. Instead of taking it off the market and putting it back on to get noticed, they just raised the price.

Overpriced as hell…Not the world’s most clever move, that’s for sure.

I’ll “forgive” them only if they plan to reside in a 60.000 sq.feet CA super mansion (LOL).
