A couple of pieces of furniture would need to go but otherwise I think it is very nice.

Blech. The exterior is nice, but I can’t handle the Empire style interior. I would need to gut the interior, keeping some of the woodwork, and start from scratch.

The interior was a surprise, a good one. I wasn’t expecting that. Very French and eclectic with a bold use of color. The exterior is fine. Just a solid itallianate.
I definitely like this one better with the interior pretty much the way it is. Do these houses generally come furnished?

I’m not a huge fan of Italianate architecture in general, but this one actually has a good look to it, can’t decide why. The quality is definitely up there in the interior, but the decor is way too over the top for me. Too much glitz. I’d take a subtle, understated interior over this “grand” style any day. I like the pool and pool area though, despite how grand in style it is.

My biggest problem with this place is the land it’s on. This could be the most beautiful house I’d ever seen, but it wouldn’t matter after a quick perusal at bing maps. The home is pretty much piled right on top of a strip mall to the rear. Across the street looks great, what with the park and the stream, but behind is a mess. I know there are walls to hide the view and (hopefully) some of the noise, but yuck. That and only a two-car garage? I know that’s a result of the age of the home, but still.

this is really a truly beautiful home designed by prominent Dallas architect Anotn Korn. He was one of the leading society architects of the time and his homes are coveted. I have to say I was disapointed overall by the interior design, but the bones are great and needs gutting in a few areas/ I’d love to walk this house- and yes, while the home backs up to a strip mall you’d never know. It’s well sited and sits somewhat above the center behind it.
