That driveway looks treacherous. The pink stone is also a turn-off. Inside isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. There is some nice millwork and even some of the furnishings looks halfway decent. That kitchen confuses me. I’d rip out that entire garden in the back.

My first thought is: Out of control ceiling treatments. I positively hate the ceiling in the entrance foyer, and most of the others are overdone. I don’t like the exterior of the house at all, although the grounds look very nice. The interior is uncomfortable looking. It looks more like a designer showhouse than a home. The living room furniture looks as if it’s been arranged purely for visual effect, as opposed to encouraging conversation. Overall I would have to give it a 5 out of 10.

So, what exactly was done to the property in the last 2 years that would warrant a $1 million price increase?

I had to laugh reading through the comments, because Mak and Grrrowler both hit on two of my major gripes, just about verbatim. I was going to say that 85% of this home is trying too hard (as Mak said), and 15% isn’t trying hard enough. Like Grrrowler, I also think the ceilings are way too busy and overdone. In addition, while I like high ceilings, they seem a little too high here, it just makes the place look like a cavern.

Finally, the facade is a big turn-off. When I first laid eyes on the pics, I thought the place looked like it was built in the mid to late ’90s, which is not a good thing. I really don’t like much about this place.
