Shope Reno Wharton is a Connecticut based Architecture firm. They have designed INCREDIBLE estates all over the country. They especially design lots of shingle style homes; which I love. From Waterfront homes to Mountain top homes, their work is truly one of a kind.

I agree, some stunning homes. Even though I don’t like shingle homes, they have done some beautiful ones that I would love to call home. My favorite one of theirs is this gorgeous palace:

Mine too! It is absolutely GORGEOUSSSSSSS
Certainly one of the top 2-3 residential design firms practicing. Here is a link to a book coming out on their work:

Simply amazing work.
Interesting historical tidbit nominally worth mentioning…When I first got out of college (many years ago), I became a saleswoman for an office supply chain, and they were one of my first accounts. Their offices were located on Putnam Road in Greenwich. I loved to go there, because they always had the most incredible foamcore models of their projects.
OH-MY-GOD…I got goose-bumps looking at ALL of these HOMES! That there are humans able to live like this, just makes me tremble. WAAAAY above my aspirations. I am BOGGLED. (and humbled).
And, yes Daniel, and Kenny, That home was perhaps my favorite too, but very hard to pick just ONE favorite…
I loved SRW designs since I first saw them in AD back in the mid 80′s. They do consistently stunning work. While I like some of their work more than others, I don’t think I’ve seen a building of theirs that I don’t like in some way.
Agreed, all……..breath-taking homes in equally gorgeous surroundings. They all look like they’ll STAND FOREVER and are indestructible, don’t they? While not my cup of tea at all, I know quality & talent when I see it, even if it’s in a heavily colonial, early american, completely traditional, psychotically & uselessly over-sized behemoth. Their work is stunning.
#4 looks quite interesting
Well, I can’t really add anything to these opinions…simply drop-dead gorgeous, I would be head-over-heels overjoyed to call ANY one of these “home”. The craftsmanship just boggles the mind….and some of those staircases (hell, all of them) are beautiful. I mean, seriously, even those stables and equestrian buildings are works of art! I’d kick it with the horses just to live in one of those.
Amazing.
I love that first house!!
Lots of good homes they have, but none of them are really my cup of tea. I have seen quite a few other homes from other firms I like much better. However, I can tell from the designs and quality that they probably would be quite able to design the exact type of home I requested
Although I notice their website says they design in a “modern” fashion, don’t know if that would work for me.
