This newly listed Normandy style estate is located in Greenwich, CT. Built in 2001, it boasts 10,078 square feet of living space with 5 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, gorgeous 2-story foyer with sweeping staircase, library, 3-car garage, swimming pool with spa and much more. It is listed at $11,750,000. I don’t know about you, but I absolutely LOVE the foyer. That staircase is magnificent!! It’s definitely not your typical, boring mansion staircase. The wrought iron railings are beautiful.

You’re definitely right about the foyer, Kenny..it IS stunning, for sure. Totally graceful, glamorous & classic……the rest of house looks to be done nicely, as is the back yard. HOWEVER……..the front facade doesn’t work at all with the clearly French interior, and to me it looks clearly Mediterranean, and not a good one at that….it’s devoid of windows, and the rhythm isn’t there (or symmetry, either). The WORST is the kitchen……..BARF BAG, pleeeease! It reminds me of the early 1950’s dining room banguet server/console/hi-fi stereo & record player my parents had in the house all my childhood……it’s downright Awful. And the white & gold stove, (either Aga or La Cornue) makes the room look even worse! The two go together like George Bush & and a HIGH I.Q.!! Also, if the formal great room is actually painted (what for sure looks to be) peach, then pass me another bag.

        Ha ha ha, that dingbat.
Everyone knows he is a legacy admission like Barney said.
He can barely string two sentences together.
His father is a very intelligent man and so are his mother and brother, but he is a flaming retard.

He was never running this country, it was Cheney all along, the only reason that they put him as the face of the party is because Cheney was not electable as the primary candidate.

Oh…no. The exterior is far too feudal looking for my taste. There’s an uncomfortable tension between the masculine elements (the “turrets” for example) and the more feminine elements (the oval windows) that just doesn’t work. The back of the house is slightly better, but it’s still off balance. I like the living/great room windows, I like the herringbone floor in the master bedroom, and I like the main staircase (but not the foyer as a whole). The rest of everything just needs to go away. In the midst of all of the stuff I don’t like, the master bathroom stands out as a room I truly despise. The color (at least in the picture) is nauseating. If it’s toned down in real life, I still hate everything else about it.

    Moving on…!

It’s okay. Exterior is reminiscent of the hundreds of Texas homes we have seen. I think if the front had more windows, it would look better. I agree, the foyer is very nice. However, the underwhelming living room needs a lot of help. I wish they would include a little bit of the ceiling to see if it has any details. I agree with Barney, the kitchen is pretty bad, and those cabinets on the island look like old radios. Back yard is nice, and I love the landscaped driveway.

The foyer is amazing. All of the rooms are fantastic.

The front facade is a little off though.
Why don’t the upstairs and downstairs windows match! It looks messy.
    The rear facade is fine.

Its interesting that so many CT listings keep the address private. Why?

Totally an address sale, private, next to the old rockefeller estate, and close to to town.

The foyer and BEAUTIFUL staircase are the high point here…everything else is either mismatched, in poor colors, or dated. That kitchen is atrocious, the great room is a gaping cavern (I guess more furniture and some rugs would help that though), and the facade is straight up boring. I really don’t like the uninterrupted roof-line all the way across the front, and those half-hearted dormer-like things don’t help (somebody help me out, are those just vents? Are they functional?). The red outlines around the rear windows/doors is a nice touch, but this place just isn’t for me. And you’re right Daniel, the front does remind of a TX home short on personality.
