    That indoor pool is cool.

The rest of the house seems to be at a lower quality than its size would demand.

only $5M…hmm…I was figuring twice that…guess it needs a little updating and with 20K square feet that could easily reach a couple million.

$5 million actually seems about right for the location. Ellicott City is a suburb of Baltimore, where real estate prices are pretty low compared to, say, the DC area. Considering that, this seems like a fair price.

Club room, indoor pool/spa and theater would be the only rooms I would keep. Everything else is too dark, too open or too cluttered. Looks much older than 1997.

I actually thought the interior looks to be aging more gracefully than many other homes built around this time…yeah, you can tell how old it is, but nothing is overly offensive to me for a 13-year-old home. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a fan of this home either, but it could be a lot worse as far as aging is concerned.

I don’t know why anybody would want to live in a house like this in ellicot city. Maryland. Potomac is much more appropriate for this type of house.

Meh. Haven’t seen this house 2 or 3 dozen times already? It’s just so uninteresting. My favorite part, because it’s so terrible, is the dining room curtains. It looks like several paratroopers have landed in the room, or that possibly there are unused bridesmaid dresses left hanging in there. Most of the rest of the house has all the charm and personal style of a mid-range motel lobby.

Although not quite as offensive, this home suffers from the same generic “blobbiness” (good way to put it, Grrrowler) as the Saddle River NJ home from a couple days ago. This general exterior style seems to be pretty common in MD, especially in places like Potomac and Bethesda, so this home is in good company as far as that’s concerned.

I probably didn’t even need to say this, but I do not like the exterior. And those pentagonal transoms above some of the windows along the front of the home are hideous. I was pleasantly surprised with some of the interior after the impression the outside made on me. The dining room and the room with the piano in it are gross and the kitchen is pretty blah and uninspiring, but the basement has some great-looking spaces, especially the rec area with the bar and pool table. Overall though, the interior decor isn’t cohesive enough and the detailing isn’t up to par either, so overall it’s disappointing.

Not a bad home for the money.
I would redo the kitchen, but other than that I like it.
I like the indoor spa area and the theater is nice.

That front facade is awesome. The whole house is nice considering the age and price. I really like the basement too/bar area too.
