This is rare, but I really like it. The exterior is very clean and elegant, and I love the Wrightian influences. Inside is a little confused as whether it wants to be traditional, contemporary or both, but I love it. The only thing I can see that I would change IMMEDIATELY is the faux-finished(?) flooring in photos 13 and 17…what the hell is that? The photos are also VERY beautiful, and even though I’m sitting here in South Florida where it’s 77 degrees and beautiful, I kinda wish I had that snow to walk out to.

Daniel, I’m in NY currently, we also have snow all over the ground, I agree with everything you said about the house, but, …………….SNOW…………… are you kidding me.

Considering I’ve never experienced this strange phenomenon many call “snow”, nope, I ain’t kidding 😉

I just want to see it for 10 minutes when its all white and pretty, not when it starts to melt and turns into brown slush.

I’m in Madison, WI, and love the snow. Quote me: “This is a nice, warm snow.” That came out of my mouth last week.

There is a joke on the Internet that is written as the journal of someone who moves to a snow state, talks about beautiful everything is, the hills, the trees, the beautiful deer and how could anyone shoot such a wonderful animal, etc…heaven. Then the snow starts, they talk about how it is so wonderful and beautiful, “the fluffy stuff from Heaven,” makes them feel young again shoveling, etc…however as the days pour on, the tone starts to change, to the point that then they start referring to as “white s***.” 😀 Then they hit a deer and say “these things should be killed.” 😀

I love snow during the Holiday season, after that it depends.

    Wonderful mansion!

The warm and homey interior is absolutely marvelous. The rooms are designed very well (most of them, not all), while the decoration is very beautiful, making this house looks inviting and friendly.

The asking price is a steal.

Because when you’re ‘from here,’ you’re FROM HERE. Upper-midwesterners are a unique lot, in the best possible way. Like this home.

Beautiful; exterior looks great, I love the stairs (with the grand piano :D), the office is very nice, the kitchen looks great and the entertainment area is fantastic.

For example; the theater is very good, I’ve never experience the typical theater you see here (with the multiple rows of seating) but a big soft couch looks way more comfortable to me to watch a movie.

And I love the bar/pool area. Great!

I agree with Daniel that those floors look a bit ‘weird’ but I don’t really care, you could probably throw a carpet on it and done.

Nice one Kenny (and Al of course :D)

Nice home, not my taste though, although I do like the wood rooms.

I love this house. Like other people said, I don’t like the painted concrete floors (at least that’s what they look like) on the lower level but those could be easily fixed. It feels to me like there’s a mismatch between the front and the back. The front is very much Prairie School style but the back looks tall and bulky, kind of the opposite of what the Prairie School was about.

That said, overall I think it’s beautiful in terms of both the scale and the design. I would definitely take it.

This is a beautiful house. I like the glass-sculpture-window between the master bathroom and the round master foyer area. I really like everything about this house.

I love this house .. almost everything about it … I live in minnesota (go to school in cali, which I prefer) but having a beautiful finished basement makes it all te better. True Orono is kind of a random place to live, but obviously someone likes it there. This is such a clean cut, elegant house just amazing! And although its winter (ew) wait till summer

No murals splashed across gilded ceilings…not double staircases…no opulence that exceeds any idea of good taste. Just a wonderful (-looking, at least) house that (considering the kid’s Superman painting in the bathroom) is a real home. It’s beautiful, with lucious warm wood…clean, wide-and-gentle arches…I could go on and on. And less than $3.5 million?? Please, God, let it also be as advertised: extremely well built. Let the reality match the looks. But it must be a bitch to heat, esp. in central Minnesotta!

One word: AMAZING… it takes alot in a house to impress me but i am astonished. I absolutely love the wood work throughout. I especially like the varying spaces. I also think the location of the master bedroom upstairs is ingenious and cool how you have to walk through the little reading loft to the rear of the house. That master bath and closet is no joke either. The lower level is exactly what i love in a house, wood, warmth and stone 🙂 those little seating areas by the fireplace are awesome and so is the rest of the lower level. Unlike many of you here i think the concrete floors are awesome the way theyre used here. And its not excessive either just the right amount. The lower level bedrooms could use a little decoration or color but besides that and the random ass location i could definitely see myself calling this amazing mansion home!!! 🙂

Yeah, when I discovered this house, my jaw dropped. It instantly became my new favorite house in Minnesota. I would probably spend all my time downstairs either next to the fireplace, or on those large couches. Lots of places to sit.
