While scouring the internet, Homes of the Rich reader Daniel found pictures of Paul Merage’s massive estate which is located in the Pelican Crest neighborhood of Newport Coast, CA. The estate was designed by Magni Design and boasts a seriously impressive foyer. I’m so glad that someone finally found pictures of it! We’ve all been dying to see what it looked like on the inside!

A big Thank You to Daniel,

I have wanted to see some pictures of this house since the first time I saw it. I think I have a new all time number one. This house is amazing – inside and out.

I’m not too crazy about all the contemporary artwork in such a beautiful traditional home. Other then that, this place is AMAZING. The lot is large (especially for this exclusive neighborhood), the landscaping is full and lush, and the views are amazing.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a house that would force me to move to California…until now.

THANKFULLY this home is stunning inside and out. The architecture is beautiful. The rear of the home is beyond gorgeous. The inside in my opinion perfect. The formality of the living room(s) are breathtaking but still livable. The dining room is exquisite. The detailing of the floors, columns and woodwork is superb. The only thing I can see that may be a bit off in person is the gigantic skylight in the foyer. It’s hard to tell the scale of it from a picture but I’m certain it’s spectacular.

Top 10 house without a doubt…UNLIKE 1 Arvida Parkway in Coral Gables, which SHOULD have had the same level of opulence.

Yup, I’ve made up my mind. The exterior of this home is perfect in my book. I think the Mediterranean/Palladian influences, the egg nog exterior, the wood-toned doors and the white columns is stunning. If I were to design my dream house tomorrow, it would look like a combo of Merage’s home and this home in the Bear’s Club:

Ha! Me too! Pick up the January 2011 issue of Florida Design magazine; the home was featured on the cover and includes some interior photos. Sadly, the interior designer (Susan Gale of Boynton Beach, FL) doesn’t seem to have a website =/

            Dear Daniel,
Thank-you very much for the generous compliments on my project that was featured on the January 2011 cover of FLORIDA DESIGN magazine. As you mentioned, that home is in the posh enclave “The Bears Club” in Jupiter, Florida.

I do, in fact have a website: http://www.susangaleinc.com

Please have a peak at some of my other work, and there is a link you can click on, if you would like to send me a message. —SUSAN GALE

Why don’t you just stick with Merage’s, kid. That other one is completely tacky and hideous..the styles could clash like the titans.

with all the talk of the foyer (which is obviously beautiful) i’m surprised no one else has given credit to its inspiration…… the grand hall of breakers mansion in newport anyone?? exact same layout, including the chandeliers.

(just scroll down a bit for a few good pictures)

ps. this mansion: newport ca. breakers: newport ri. coincidence? haha

So then I guess this home is even more of a rip off of the breakers. Notice how the foyer is almost identical to Merage’s:

Hot Pockets was an excellent idea and the execution was flawless. Think about how hard it must be bringing a product like that to market with all the big food companies around that could run a start-up out of business in a second. Merage deserves his success

What a perfect mansion!!! Excellent piece of architecture.

Wonderful exterior and very classy interior. The location and the views are stunning.Compared to Villa Bellissima in UT, you can understand easily why Merage’s mansion is thousand times better.

    Well done Paul.

There really aren’t any more superlatives I can add to the discussion. It really is beautiful. Even the interior is a wonderful eclectic mix of different styles, and classical and modern pieces.

I love the exterior and the interior, I agree with Swimmer about the modern art, it looks weird with the rest of the home’s furniture.
