The exterior is painfully bare; the architecture is very boring and there is almost no landscaping. Inside is surprisingly beautiful. The millwork throughout is exceptional. However, the house looks VERY dark. The entry foyer, even with every single hi-hat turned on and a light beige color scheme, still is dark. I HATE the way the staircase is set on top of a wall (very odd)…could it not have been a floating curved staircase instead? I love the kitchen, though it also is very dark. The cabinets and countertops are gorgeous. The library is ATROCIOUS – one of the worst I have ever seen. The theater needs to loose the violet paint. The rear of the home is exceptionally ugly and bare.

Although McLean is very prestigious, I don’t think I could live in this house. There are some very nice details, but overall it is a mess – a $7 million mess.

Sometime this week there was a house with an interior that was somewhat similar to this house. Someone made a comment that they could picture a ghost appearing in one of the pictures. This is how I feel about the top of the stairs picture or the picture of the library.

PJ screen matches the walls? I wonder what that does to the picture quality. A 3-car garage is pretty nice… for a $300k home, that is.

A $7 million study in brown. Clearly the builder was using generic colors (with the exception of the theater) to appeal the largest market possible. That’s just a bad idea since a $7 million house starts out with a very limited market to begin with.

The outside almost looks unfinished. For the price, I would expect some more mature landscaping to be used.

The interior is definitely not my style, but there are some nice details. Not nice enough to make we want to live in the thing, mind you. The library: what happened? I’m trying to decide if it’s just a bad stain job on real wood, or if it’s a faux finish of some sort. Whichever, it ends up looking terrible. It makes me think of crushed velvet. Why does a house need two wine cellars?

I would take some of the Murano chandeliers, but that’s about it. The builder could have done a MUCH better job on this.

Kenny, how did you get 18,000 square feet? The listing says 12, 251 sq. ft.

The description states that it is 18,000 square feet.

I think the agent is overly optimistic in the description!

I have only seen one other house with two wine cellars, and it was in the $135 million never-built colossus designed by Frank McKinney in Manalapan, FL. His theory behind it was one was for white wine, the other for red. Personally, I don’t much like wine, so in my dream home the cellar would be rather small.

Ditto what everyone else has already said. The kitchen seems to be the only thing I like.

Has anyone else thought it rather odd that the $30 million home in Bradbury has small, fuzzy pictures & yet this one has much higher quality, large ones???

I’ll never figure out these brokers of high-priced homes! 😉

The only thing I lke about this house is the kitchen. The exteror is too bulky looking and I hate the brick. The woodwork looks okay, but what really bugs me is all the cheap looking gas fireplace inserts. Alos, the back of the stairs, which I assume overlooks the living room looks, in my opinion, ridiculously ugly. But the kitchens nice…

That home theater… What they were thinking?

The interior is not something special, but I have seen much worse…

    The exterior needs work.
It is not bad if it was maybe $3 million.
I could not see paying more than that.

    Couple of questions…
    1. Who in the world would build a 7 million dollar spec in this marketplace?
    2. What bank would finance it today?
    3. Is there another 7 million dollar home in the US with a treated lumber 2 x 4 wood deck out back….man that looks pitiful !
    4. What are the odds this home sells in the next year at even 1/2 of the asking price? I’m saying slim to none.

The kitchen is… just like any other that we’ve seen. It’s nice to have a fireplace in the adjoining room, however. Finish is too ornate for my taste, but the layout is alright. I can see myself rolling out pasta dough on one of the islands.

That library. Ugh. There’s a reason ‘burl’ rhymes with ‘hurl.’

As for the exterior, the way the gray stone butts right up against the lower sills makes the wall space feel too expansive, like the scale is off. The lower window sills don’t rest on the floor of the interior, do they?

Maybe it’ll look better once the vegetation matures.

I think the front exterior shot it actually a mock up and not the actual exterior.

As for the house. Yawn. Its a tract house on steriods, but a tract house nonetheless.

Wow.. that’s a huge house. No, mansion. It must be so awesome living in a very big big house. 🙂 And it’s so expensive, of course a very beautiful mansion would be so expensive probably it would need a lot of extravagant furniture as well.

The facade is horrible, sorry it just is so unappealing and the inside is not too much better though I think the kitchen is pretty nice, the libary is nice and the iron staircase is good looking. Other than that, not much else I am blown over by.
