FINALLY! A Greenwich home that DOESN’T have the white walls and dark wooden floors throughout. COLORS!!!!!!

For 1893, it looks quite good. Looks like any remodeling/additions were done with respect to the original design. Interior is a mix of styles (some good, some not), but overall I like the ‘lived in’ feel of this home. It really looks like a great place to have family and friends over without worrying about dirtying the furniture. With that said, most of the furnishings would need to go. It just doesn’t look like a $20 million house. Maybe $7-$10 million, but not $20 million.

$20 million is a lot however, and I would need to do a major redecorating. The only room I would keep as-is is the funky piano room with the plaid carpeting. I’d just need to get rid of the floral sofas and TV from 1998.

I like the exterior quite a bit. It’s definitely been kept original and I appreciate that. The interior decor is far too exuberant for my style. I would scrap almost all the soft furnishings and start again. I do like the rooms themselves and I love some of the old (original?) mantels. The scale of the rooms looks just about perfect. I also love having a fireplace in the kitchen.

I’m not sure there is such a thing as a bad location in Belle Haven, but I’m not overly fond of where this house sits. While it’s right at the water, there is a road between it and the water and it’s technically not waterfront. No waterfront equals no boat dock.

I like this house, I like it a lot.
The price is a little crazy, definitely too high but otherwise it looks comfortable and livable.

$20 million & no boat dock? Sorry, but I’d be looking to spend my money on something that had higher ceilings & was on the water!

I have been a fan of this website almost since it started and have never been to it’s companion website, “Dropping Benjamins”. I remember Kenny asking us to help him pick the name for the website & feel horrible. I guess I have tunnel vision. (And a horrible memory – sorry!) Anyway, I clicked on the link at the right and was very surprised! It was EXACTLY up my alley. Most of us that like high-end homes would enjoy it, so if you haven’t already, or for some time, click on over there today!

I would feel right at home. Not saying it’s my style but the way it is now you don’t have to (really) worry about making the furniture dirty. But it doesn’t like 20 million. Not even close.

If you doubt the price, remember the same listing agent that has this house had a huge party, TV stations etc, when he listed the Leona Helmsly estate for $125,000,000.00 about 5 years ago. It just sold for $31,502,000.00. Daniels estimate is maybe a little high, but close.

Idk, from what Ive seen, Belle Haven, Old Greenwich, Riverside, have been retaining their home values a lot better than the rest of the town. I am not astonished at this price, but i would deff not pay that… It’s not direct waterfront… I could see 10-15 mill maybe??

No doubt its a nice house, but for $20m its completely lacking any feeling of prestige, Brooke Astor wouldnt live here, nor would I. It seems like a (huge) common family home with a price tag of something else…
