So the thinking behind this house was let’s spend 90% of our resources on the sweet pool, and then build a decent house around it. Exterior looks like any other ranch home with some added stonework. Interior is nothing spectacular, and that lakefront setting reminds me of the movie “Lake Placid”.

    No thanks.

Not to my taste but thats completely irrelevant, one of the most liveable homes on here! I especially love the dock with BBQ area on the top, must be home to many great summer nights! Love the stone work too

I agree with you about that dock. I does look like you could have some serious fun there. 😀

I am sure I saw this house on HGTV or Travel Channel and they were featuring the building of this indoor pool.

It is a nice house regardless and the price is very good.

I like the stonework on the outside and some of the outdoor areas. The front facade is rather uninteresting. The inside is definitely not to my liking. I don’t like the marble floors throughout the house and most of the interior is nothing special. Of course, the indoor pool is pretty cool; it’s nice that it’s not the typical rectangular pool in a white rectangular room. Personally, I like the lake-front location and think that the view from the boat dock is lovely.

If you omit the nice pool, this house doesn’t offer anything else that deserves attention. The interior details are not stunning at all…

I sometimes scratch my head and say “What does it take to make some of the people on this sight happy.” Kenny, your blog has been taken over by a bunch of frustated interior decorators.

Definitely! When I see a multi-million dollar house I expect a multi-million dollar experience, not just a house.

The house is priced at $210.00 a sq ft. It is waterfront, has docks, an indoor pool, there is no puffed up space via basement square footage, and the exterior of the house is stone, and stone is not cheap. This house is one heck of a deal.

Mediocrity, regardless of price, should never be tolerated.

I was just thinking the same thing. Nothing makes all of us very happy, but… whatever. Don’t read the comments. 🙂

To that end, can we be sure this home was built in 2008 and not 1978? Some of it is a little tacky, but I like the scale and would LOVE the waterfront.

Surely they are taking a loss at that asking price. Either that or Buford, GA is a damn cheap place to build a house.

Likes and dislikes are opinions – everyone has one, and they have a right to them. 🙂

I like the house – Lake Lanier is a beautiful place and there is some lovely real estate around it, some very expensive and some not so much. If someone enjoys boating the warm weather would be a huge plus. Imagine being able to go boating for 8 to 10 months a year!

Take a look on Bing Maps from the air. The doc there is surrounded by mud and dirt. Seems the lake dose not reach year around.
