Many months ago I was interested in learning more about that one, so I asked the agent for some info, floor plans being something I was interested in. The builder totally refused, seems it was “so special” that it was out of the question. Well… I think it is built by locals without much experience in high-end construction. We might be looking at a bad McMansion here. Sad to say.

In Spain you have to be very careful. Tourists have bought homes there, sometimes for millions, and then subsequently found out that the homes didn’t have the neccessary planning permission or that they were in fact built illegally – making them basically worthless. These kind of horror stories happen more than you think in Spain. So if an agent is being totally hush-hush about a property, there could be something dodgy. Though in this case I obviously don’t think so, it’s probably just a case of wanting to remain exclusive and not letting the wider masses see any of the homes details – bastards! lol

It certainly looks the part, but then Marbella has plenty such properties and often much more expensive, just check out a few of these monster places – http://www.kyero.com/browse/luxury-marbella-property-for-sale-loc31673mnp500000pag1ppp20slt0srt5 – my bank manager says maybe next year (he retires at xmas!)

Wow, this home looks very classy. If finished correctly, it could have a very nice feel.

While Marbella gets a lot of attention and deservedly so, please check Santander as well – there are some very nice mansions being built there as well. Right now, Santander is also less crowded and considerably cheaper than Marbella if you look at homes on a feature for feature or square foot for square foot basis, but I am not sure it will stay that way much longer if the recession ends.

The house in question is actually quite in a bad shape… It stood around like this for 5 years by now and hence has already a lot of seasalt and corrosion on all the marble / Sandstone. The owner of the house wanted to sell it to my parents in that shape for 4’000’000 Euros… and was willing to go down. However, as said, it is on a main street where all the people living in Sierra Blanca drive up and down (this is not the neighborhood where they drive prius’), furthermore, it has barely any land around it and has horrible interrior planning. Like a party house… it has small bedrooms, on the first floor with all the living on the second floor and then the kitchen also on the first… hence, quite weird.
