Here is another one of my mansion designs. The home is called “Cresta de León” which translates to “Lion Crest”. I am an AMATEUR drawer, so please take that into consideration when critiquing =). I’ve always wanted a grand double staircase leading up to my front door, so I added one. Now that would make a statement! I would love to take a look at some mansion designs by Homes of the Rich readers! If you would like, send your designs to kenny17995@yahoo.com and I’d happy to post them up!

Not bad for an amateur, I must say! It looks like a great house.
Have you ever thought about marketing your designs? Try it, you might get lucky and sell something.
Kenny, I recommend you immerse yourself in the principals of classical architecture. With that as a base you can move into any design vernacular you want. Far too many houses nowdays are just amalgams of different design styles. It’s one of the reasons I struggled to find the correct architect for my house. Great architecture stands the test of time.
Thanks for the advice Dave! =)
Its really nice!
You should start doing floor plans.
thanks =). Yeah, I think I should!
any floor plans? I would love to see them! My son, an amateur architect has some designs, I might send you some.
no floor plans yet, hopefully soon. Awesome! I would love to see them.
Nice house, Kenny!
Have you ever thought about drawing your houses with the computer? Like using Macromedia Flash or something like this? You can make them look so beautiful… I used to do that a while ago, designing my own HUGE homes lol
PS: “Cresta de Leon” is not french, but spanish/portuguese… The correct traduction in french would be “Crinière de Lion”.
On tip though, have a porte-cochere in the courtyard and have it lead to the back where the garages should be. Then the garages will not be on the same side as the front facade.
Very nice, but I would either take that front arm and make it run alongside the house with the garages hidden inside and facing each other, or widen the main section a little and then add another arm coming off the front.
On another note, I always meant to ask if you knew anything about that huge house in Royal Pains that they live in in The Hamptons.
I would love to see more inside/outside photos and aerial shots.

Its Oheka Castle in Long Island, http://www.oheka.com/. Its currently a luxury hotel. I’ve been there a couple of times. The interiors of the home are sets, and the interior looks nothing like that in real life. Also, sadly the amazing guest house they live in doesn’t exist.
Thanks guys.
I want it, it looks awesome.
i love this version of “Cresta de Leon” a lot more. I hate garages right in the main courtyard on a house of that size and grandeur.
ditto =)
Much better now.
