Not a fan of the home. Cozy it may be, but to me, cozy does not mean using plush furniture and crown moldings in every room. Can’t pick out I don’t like, but can’t pick out a room I do. Garage is nice…could be bigger 😉

I was about to disagree with Daniel, and then I looked closer at the house. I think the house is perfectly appropriate for its setting and for the area of the country it’s in. I don’t mind the bones of the interior, such as the floors, railings, ceiling heights, mantles. Even the room proportions look right. I appreciate that the furniture looks like it was collected by the owners over time, or handed down through generations, although I’m sure the look was carefully planned. Like Daniel I agree that there could be a little less “icing” in some of the rooms in terms or moldings and overwrought trim. I also don’t understand why every. single. room. must have some sort of swag or drapery hanging from the window, even when it serves no purpose.

My biggest complaint is with the front facade. 52 acres of land to spread out on and there are those garage doors facing the front of the house! With that much land and that large of an existing driveway, couldn’t the architect have moved the garage doors to the read or side of the house and presented the facade of that wing with just simple windows to match the main body of the house? On top of that, the architect made a major mistake by breaking the 2nd floor balcony into two across the front of the house. A single continuous balcony or no balcony at all would have looked better.

It’s pretty but I can’t see myself being comfortable in it.

I really like this house because it is very similar to the houses around Potomac, where i live. the garage also has a lot of potential.

Yes to the kitchen, back porch, floors, stairs, and the interior of the garage. No to the type of garage. It looks like the builder or architect was lazy and didn’t feel like making the facade more pleasing to the eyes. No to the upper balconies. The design is ugly on this house. To small ones would have looked a lot better. Grrrowler is right about the drapes and furniture. Color is enough. Too much decorating is overkill. And it makes the house look worse. Nice home nonetheless.
