Here are more interior pictures of the $68.5 million Le Palais du Couchant estate which is located at 9577 Sunset Blvd in Beverly Hills, CA. The 36,000 square mega mansion is now brokered by Jade Mills. There are over 10 chandeliers alone in the rooms pictured above. I can’t imagine how many more are scattered throughout the home!

uh no…..no…..
Thanks! Great post, great house, would love to call this home! Although I find it disturbing that you can see it from the road
while the intricacies of this home are beautiful (like the flooring), it is things like these that make these homes impossible to sell. they are built to such specific standards that only the person who built it likes it enough to spend that kind of money on it. if somebody is going to spend 68 million, they probably are going to build their own custom home, leaving nobody in the market for this house.
That’s atrocious.
Hmmm. I like this home a lot less now for some reason. Perhaps its those rugs, unnecessarily bold and conflicting with the already incredibly detailed and bold architecture and moldings. I would paint over some of that gold gilt; this would reduce the boldness while still maintaining the overall feel of opulence. And those marble columns in the room with the red carpet need to go.
I agree it needs furniture, but I hope it doesn’t have any gold in it. Even as is, I would still pick it over the Kurtz mansion.

That’s exactly what I thought! The rugs make the rooms look much worse than they actually are! I liked the original look of it before they drug those things in. When you have a bold color in a room already – you DO NOT use a rug on the floor that is an exact opposite on the color wheel. (Makes the barf factor start to emerge!)
This place is spectacular, to be sure, but just waaaaay to gaudy and elegant looking for my taste. I can’t imagine ever sitting down and relaxing in this house, it is just too fancy and overdone. I realize the builder and designers were wanting this very style, but it just looks like a museum, not a home. Reminds me of Fleur de Lys–fancy for the sake of showing off. Will sell for somewhere in the 30 or 35 million range, I suspect, which is probably about what it’s worth.
I don’t understand why the interior always needs to be so cold by homes like these. Couldn’t there for once be that kind of exterior coupled with warm, inviting interior as opposed to one that looks like a museum?
This house is just way too over the top.
No.
Is this the above groung burial vault that Michael Jackson is in?
Richard Landry should work his magic on furnishings.
Everyone has beat me to my thoughts on the house; the more I see of it the less I like it. It’s just ostentatious and not even in a pretty way.
I agree with the consensus here. Besides being too gaudy, ostentatious, and big, it’s just not at all what people are looking for these days in terms of style and design. Add another overwrought, overpriced Beverly Hills mausoleum to the growing list of those sitting empty because the emerging generation of hip people with money and modern tastes simply don’t like or want them.
I would think a place like that is worth no more than $25 million.
???????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
While I agree with you that this mansion is STILL HORRENDOUSLY overpriced, Kyle………….I literally could NOT believe my eyes when I read…………..
“ISN’T ENOUGH CRAFTMANSHIP?!?!?!?!?!?!?”
EXACTLY WHAT are you smoking, My Friend?!?!?!
I was waiting for you to weigh in on this house.
Entertaining as usual. lol
Deconomy, I like that.
I might have to steal that from you time to time.
If I make any money off of it, I will give you some royalties. lol
You better, Venom! Actually I think it should be spelled “deeeconomy”
And thanks for the compliment (I think!)……”entertaining” can be taken all kinds of ways!
