I’m really liking this home. That staircase is gorgeous!!!! Personally though, I would paint over those murals in the living room ceiling or add wooden inserts. Also, those theater chairs belong in my grandmother’s house!

not entirely bad. there are some scale issues with some of the ceilings and the unengaged columns leading towards the staircase are laughable. a colossal column should be supporting the entableture area above the cloumn and not not be off center. also the arch radius should begin at the leading edge of this part too. some off the treatments are abit tacky, but fixable. 7 of 10 stars

Too close to the road & not very private! I understand it for high-density cities were land is sparse and very expensive but in Colorado Springs I would really want more land and privacy! The house itself, however, is very nice

The interior has been executed nicely, keeping in with the French style but not overdoing it. One thing I hate about French style estates is if they’re far too formal and cold or gaudy on the inside! This one however, is just the way I like it. Formal on the outside, but liveable and nice interior. A very nice home, both inside and out, that unfortunately sits on a too small plot of land

This is nice but it’s so not my style. Not that every house in every locale should have the same style, but the french chateau look feels out of place in a place like CO Springs.

Like Daniel said, those murals have to go, and like Jason said, those columns in the living room are just out of place. They are supporting air! The house also seems rather shoe-horned onto the property.

    I love this place.
It looks great and has a nice setting with lots of land and is in a good area.
The price seems very fair also.
    I love French Chateaus.

It has a Clive Christian kitchen and a La Cornue range so you know that everything is top notch in the home and the builder probably knows what he is doing.

Am I the only one who would have guessed it was larger than 16,000sqft from looking at the aerial photo?

Seriously, how is this home only $8.5 million!? Looks more like it should be around $20+ million at least! I am guessing maybe because it is in Colorado? Put it in California on the beach and the price would probably shoot up a lot.

I would like a home of this type of design, but an English manor or Tudor mansion type.

Agree with some of the scale issues, but THIS STYLE is what I love the most. First of all, the symmetry of the outside is one of my major likes about a house–the main reason Aaron Spelling’s house is, to me at least, very cool looking. Love the French Chateau style as well. This house looks awesome from the street and has spectacular drive up appeal. Does need a few touchups, but overall, worth the price if Colorado is your kind of state.

I still prefer Texas, it’s only 104 degrees today 😉

I’m not sure to be honest. My dads friend who lives in Buckhead has a home in the neighborhood and I asked him about it and thats what he told me.

I live in the springs and have seen this house many times. It is in a very odd location, with the driveway exiting at a 3 way intersection. It also clashes way too much with the houses around it which are much much smaller and set further back into the trees. Also as mentioned before the style is a little odd, the Broadmoor is full of Colonials and Tudors and shingle style homes. With quite a few of them designed by the prolific Horace Trumbauer who is one of the greatest residential architects of the 20th century.

This was never owned by the heirs of 3m. it was built by the owner of a construction company and a realtor and they still live there. the heirs of 3m do live about 10 houses up the road, though
