OK, I love this house. I’m not familiar with the area of CT but it looks like there are some other large houses in the area so it’s not in a neighborhood of only smaller houses. There are only two things I’m not fond of, but I could live with: the bedroom on the main floor that’s behind the garage is not great for family, but it could be used for staff; the sinks in the master bath are back to back meaning the mirrors give a crazy “infinity mirror” effect.

This house has a great layout, is on plenty of land, and is handsome. I love the stairway and the family room, plus the catwalk around the second floor that looks down into the family room.

According to the listing website, the first floor bedroom/bathroom is entirely wheelchair accessible. Great for elderly parents/grandparents. Also with an elevator around the corner in the mudroom for easy access to all other floors.

I would have to agree about the mirrors in the master bath.

I also particularly like the layout. Extremely roomy with very wide second floor hallways.

I very much appreciate the “details” section of this website where the builder specifies his building methods. A lot seems quite unique with good forethought. Very nice smaller details, for instance the “screwless electrical outlet covers” in the “special features” section of “details”

I would also point out the extra buttress walls added to the foundation that I do not believe is required by code. Check out the pictures in the “structural” section of “details”

The only thing I don’t like is its location. Its on the NY border, and if you have children in the New Canaan public schools, its an incredibly long drive to get them to school.

Actually it is 7 minute drive at the most and it is a straight drive into town. The privacy is worth it
