(Above are some pictures that I took during the tour. I had my mom stand in some of the pictures so that you could get a better understanding of the scale of the rooms)

This masterpiece of a home is located at 5 Buckingham Drive in Alpine, NJ, America’s most expensive zip code. I had the pleasure of touring this awesome estate today along with Homes of the Rich reader Brandt. The owner was one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met and I’m so grateful that he showed us around. Thanks Marc!!!  It was designed by acclaimed architect John Henry. It boasts some incredible features such as the different rooflines as well as the hand cut stones that were used for the exterior (each stone was cut one by one!). You’ll find nothing like that anywhere else in Northern New Jersey!! It boasts close to 14,000 square feet of ultra luxurious living space with 7 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms.

The home boasts 2 gated entrances and lush landscaping. As you walk up to the house, you are greeted by a massive front entry door that has the same iron used on the gates. The grand 2-story entry foyer boats imported stone floors and a sweeping custom staircase with hand crafted wrought iron railing. To the left of the entry foyer is a gorgeous wood paneled library with custom built-ins. To the right is a lovely formal dining room with exquisite detailing on the ceiling. Rounding out the first floor is a wood paneled billiards room/card room, a 2-story great room with massive double sided fireplace and 3 sets of French doors, a gourmet kitchen with butler’s pantry, a family room with fireplace, an office area, and a maid’s room.

The second floor can be accessed by the main staircase as well as a back staircase. This level boats a fabulous master suite with amazing women’s closet and a master bathroom with rare imported Jerusalem marble. There also 5 other equally impressive bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. One of the most impressive things about these bedrooms is that none of them are exactly alike. Each one is unique in their own way. One of them boats a princess balcony and a 2-story turret . This level also boasts a cedar closet and a laundry room.

The jaw dropping walkout lower level boasts incredible 10 foot ceilings, a custom built wine cellar with stone exterior, an exercise room with rubber flooring and picturesque windows, a full 2nd gourmet kitchen, an eating area, a large double sided fireplace, a 2nd family room/recreational room, a home theater (pre-wired), and a changing room.

One of the best features of this home are the large terrace and patio spaces. This is perfect for grand scale entertaining. The estate also boasts a free form swimming pool with spa, a 4-car heated garage, and an elevator that services all 3 floors.

This exceptional home is currently on the market for $14,750,000.

I like the style of the windows in the great room…something different. But is that kitchen complete? If so, is there a reason why half of it is white and half wood-toned?

It looks white, but it actually has a greenish hue.

  • A lot of Kitchen’s use two toned cabinetry now, whether it be dark and light woods or stained white and dark wood.

Hmmm. I’ve seen it where the island(s) are a different tone than the main cabinetry, but never the way it is in this home (half the main cabinetry is white, the other half is wood). Perhaps it isn’t completed. If it is, it looks a bit off.

This is such a lovely home, I bet you were like a kid in a Candy store! 😀
How the shape of the pool make you feel? Seems a little disconnected/unrelated/dyslexic/disunited to the rest of the home and property

haha, I was!! It was such an amazing house. I don’t really have a problem with the shape of the pool, but I think it could be a little bit bigger.

This majestic home makes Suburban New Jersey. I still know a lot of people that don’t know the quality of the wealthiest zip code in the country. They are missing out. John Henry is a beast of an Architect. A lot of his homes are built in Florida and look amazing also. The scale of the home is very impressive. It would be nice if Ohio got back into the game of building mansions and them being showcased on here. Great kitchen and overall layout of the floorplan. I think it is time for me to post on here my designs too.
