To me this is one of the ugliest interior decorations jobs I’ve ever seen. It looks stereotypically bad, like someone wanted it to look that ugly.

btw I might add that throughout the entire time I’ve lived in the area, I never knew that this house was officially in Alpine! (I always thought it was on the Cresskill side of the border)

Actually in this case the address does matter. Alpine houses tend to be more expensive than Cresskill ones of similar quality because Alpine’s property taxes are substantially lower than Cresskill’s, in addition to the Alpine name carrying slightly more cachet than that of Cresskill. Essentially, you can either elect to pay more up front and less taxes in the long run for a house in Alpine or vice versa for a house in Cresskill. btw I only know this because my family is currently looking to move from Cresskill to Alpine.

You mean as in Cresskill or Alpine? I don’t think that much because they’re both practically in the same area, which is very wealthy. But generally real estate is all about location. So it makes a huge difference if it’s in this part of New Jersey or another, less well off one

Alpine seems the place to be. Love this place, beautiful. It even has its own bowling alley. I preferred the French estate slightly to this one, but they’re both great
