This Italian Villa is located at 458 Lakeside Terrace on the shores of desirable Glencoe, IL and has endless views of Lake Michigan. The 10,000 square foot mansion was built by Tara Designer Homes and is listed at $5,375,000. It boasts 5 bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, a floating marble staircase with beautiful hand carved railings, white marble floors throughout, a formal living room, a formal dining room, a library, 2 master bedroom suites, a loft, a home theater, a gym, a recreational room, 6 terraces (including a beautiful rooftop terrace), gardens, and a 3-car underground garage. My favorite part of the home is definitely the staircase, it’s not your typical cookie cutter mansion staircase. The interior is decor is elegant and sophisticated. The only thing I sort of don’t like is the exterior, it’s a little boxy. What do you guys think?

Hey Folks…..Former realtor here, in Grosse Pointe Shores Michigan, and I’ve seen my share of stunning, close-to-true Mansions here, while I was in real estate. But SORRY, this place is a TRUE “McMansion”…TACKY, waaaaay too big for the lot, and the lot’s waaaaay too small for the house, and the house is entirely too formal, and completely pretentious for the neighborhood. Alas, it seems that high-end Builders, like the VAST majority of the rest of the human race, will NEVER learn. TOO MUCH house, on TOO LITTLE a lot, and waaaaay too expensive a home, in a completely more informal neighborhood/street than the house is.

yeah, it’s unfortunate. most listings only have small pictures that don’t allow you to really get a feel for the house. it’s better when homes have their own websites, because then most of the pictures on there are large.

The staircase in the foyer is too uninviting…
