High end London is the second most expensive real estate in the world behind Monaco. That was their mentality. Spend spend spend. But the situation has changed since then, 1. the recession has severly impacted their wealth (and I mean severly - wealth has taken a huge nosedive in Russia), and 2. Russia's economy is doing very badly indeed. I don't think we'll be seeing this kind of excess in quite some time. The only hope this developer has of selling this property anywhere near that price is if some Arab/middle eastern prince/ oilman wants to spend some petrodollars. But I don't see that happening. It's called Winfield House and has got the largest private garden, after Buckingham Palace, in Central London. It was built by the Woolworth heiress Barbara Hutton. No idea what it's worth but it's got to be ridiculously expensive. When our President (former ones as well as Obama) visit the UK they often stay at Winfield House. It's completely private and apparently guarded by members of our and the British intelligence community at all times.
