Holy Mother of God. I am speechless. This has to be the most amazing estate I have ever seen in my life and this time I mean it. It is magical, exotic, breathtaking, jaw-dropping….any other words? A massive oval shaped pool of emerald blue water surrounds the entire estate. It has a long driveway with diamond shaped motor court, two gardens, and a huge swimming pool/fountain? area on the other side. What more could you ask for?!! It’s like living on your own resort. I wonder if the water is shallow or deep. How cool would it be to swim in that! I am dying to learn more about this home. It is located in Naranja, Florida.

It’s pretty cool but that’s about it. Seems like a lot of unnecessary work to go through just for waterfront. Why not just build on beachfront, lakefront or on an island? It just seems like the guy did it just to say that he could do it. Kinda like the guitar-shaped house. Which is fine if you’re biggest priority is impressing others.
I really just don’t see where any extra pragmatic benefits come into play by doing this. I’m not against people going the extra mile to capture their passions or enjoyments in life. Some people build homes right on the edges of cliffs to get the ultimate view experience. Michael Jackson, the Sultan of Brunei and Pablo Escobar created their own private theme parks and zoos. Lots of owners will have their own 18-hole golf courses and Henry Huntington turned 150 acres into his own private gardens, spending the rest of his life amassing one of the world’s most diverse botanical collections. But this, like that pyramid house a few months ago, doesn’t really seem to be doing anything.

I am certain that is a swimming pool. It has steps down into it and lounge chairs around it. It also has a fountain built up in the center. You would not want to swim in the dredged out marsh, it might be warm, but sandy and you would probably start to stir up sand and discolor the water! I wonder if this guy got the idea from Dubai with its dredged out Palm & the World islands. It is possible that dredging is how he made the living in order to do this. I always wanted to have the funds to put a chateau in the water like Azay-le-Rideau or
Chenonceau. After being there in person you realize what a cool idea it is! Also if there is an army after you, just pull up the drawbridge!!!
It is not a swimming pool, that is how the water looks when you dig into the ground–look at the color of the water at any of the hundreds of sandpits around the area (on google maps you can see these pits on krome ave just north of kendall dr and on cardsound on the way to key largo). I am not sure how deep it is, it may be only a foot or two as my house (which is only 2 miles away) is only a foot above sea level in some areas.
The thing is, yeah, this house is huge, but there is nothing to do around here. We were primarily an agricultural community specializing in winter vegs; and now we are the prime grower of indoor plants (particularly orchids)–note: THIS IS NOT SWAMP LAND ANYMORE OR FOR THE LAST 100 YEARS! We are also a bedroom community for Miami, but the people who move down here tend to be a bit poor (on google maps just go directly west 1 mile or so and you will see section 8 housing). There are some other big houses in the area, but nothing as outlandish as this, and it is not like all these house are concentrated in one mega-rich area: the Redlands, as this area is known, is quite large and economically diverse. Unless this guy takes a helicopter into work, it’s at least a 45 minute drive to downtown Miami (at 1 AM), and can be up to 1.5 hours during rush hour; Coral Gables is just a bit closer; the nearest PF Chang’s or Cheese Cake Factory (which passes for upscale in these parts) is over 30 minutes away. Even the two malls in the area are dead–filled mostly with no-name stores that go out of business with in a year.
I just worry about what will happen when this guy realizes that he could have used these millions to build something equally as interesting in neighborhood more suited to his lifestyle. What strings will he pull with local government (Miami-Dade/Miami/So Fla is notoriously corrupt) to help him unload this behemoth?

Plus, “emerald blue” water does not make sense. emerald is green. it looks more like milky blue water to me.

Any idea how the garage and front door work in this place? I’m assuming the garage is under the front of the house, but then where is the front door?
Basement’s cannot be built in this area of the US: we are only 1-5 feet above sealevel in these areas.
It looks like the bottom was filled in by sand. NOt my thing, and I feel it’s overdone and over the top. Not something I would do, but a different concept for architectural’s sake I guess

I live in the are of the house its amazing from ground view also and the house sits on 10 acres its not filled in with sand when you dig in south florida there’s coral rock thats what you are looking @.
