The infamous “Le Reve” Estate in Georgia has been re-listed with a lower asking price. Originally on the market for a whopping $45,000,000, the home is now only $28,000,000. This puts it on par with another well known mega estate; the Champ d’Or Estate in Denton, TX. Le Reve is located at 2015 Trammel Road in Cumming, GA and contains 47,000 square feet of living space. At a cost of $50 million to build, I say that the home is pretty much a bargain. Along with the new asking price are some new pictures. I love the ballroom with it’s beautiful shiny marble floor!

I’m not a fan of these type of houses, the interior is too gaudy and old world for my taste. The grounds are my favorite part about this property.

I went to realtor.com and searched the area, that beautiful house is backed up to the worst trailer park I have ever seen. The search was with the ariel picture of the house.

I actually rode by the house this week, and the above comments are mostly true. It’s kind of close of a commercial area just off GA400, and it is surounded by several mobile homes. That said, there’s a few new residential developments springing up nearby and they are — for the most part — decidedly upscale, especially the one right across the road from the main entrance. Lots there are $300,000 or so. Also, you can’t really see much of the house from the road, and the entire property is surrounded by a tall, ornate, wroght iron fence. It looks very impressive. By contrast, Dean Gardens (which is about 15 minutes away from this house) is on a much better plot of land, in a much more upscale area. And you can see Dean Gardens — in all its gaudy glory –from Old Alabama Road. Given the choice, I’d put this house on Dean Gardens’ property and have my little slice of Southern heaven.

Is it just me or is the ballroom ceiling too low for the size of the room?

Is that the ballroom? I thought it was the garage, albeit a very nicely detailed one…

As others have already said the house is gorgeous and the problem is the area that it’s located at.

  • Yes, the ceiling hight does look a little low there. If this is not a camera illusion, I think it’s sad that the room is not higher. This is a common mistake, even in very expensive houses. A room can be long and/or large, and low ceilings is not good then.

Regarding the location, is there a trailer park next to it? Barbeque and booze! 😀

oh snap. this is amazing- especially for the price. i’m also a major grounds/landscaping fan and this certainly fits the bill. and now that someone mentioned that there’s a trailer park next to it (although i didn’t see one on google maps), that’d be even better for me! i’d party with them all day instead of surrounding myself with snooty insecure narcissist socialites. just bring the whole damn park over every weekend, grill up some cows, setup a horseshoe court and get uncontrollably blitzed with my neighbors!

anyone see that outdoor arena on the right side of the grounds? you could throw insane concerts there too! i love this place. i’m givin it a 9.5/10 and that will change into a perfect score once a few waterslides and stripper poles are set up.

Is this John Edwards’s house??? His mansion is next to trailer park… I guess that’s what he meant by being “two Americas” or did he say “two girlfriends” or did he say “twice as stupid”…

Anyway, This house looks like Spellings house. Which one came first?

To me it looks like an awesome place to visit but a horrible place to live! I would never feel comfortable and as an architect I believe your house should be as comfortable as possible.

I love this house over and above most of its counterparts. I would never in anyway shape of form live in cumming or anywhere else in GA. Lucky its now priced within reach of sports players and the likes of people who enjoy these tacky homes

It’s now listed at 16.75 Million. Almost 30 Million off the original price. It’s now in foreclosure I believe.

House sold for 11mm furnished in Foreclosure. I visited the home multiple times during foreclosure. As for the development across the street….the previous owner of the home, Mr. Humphreys developed it as well and intended to “spruce up” the area. It’s in foreclosure too and selling for 45k per lot to a national builder who intends to build homes from the $300’s rather than the 1mm original price tag. You’d be crazy to move south to the other mentioned properties. Your taxes would increase from $250k a year to nearly $400k per year on this house, just to live in Fulton count. Mr. Humphreys did right by building in Forsyth on the 80 acre estate, just too much for my taste….and budget
