Michael again. This time I wanted to do a basic plan that takes inspiration from Clarendon Court in Newport, RI.
This one I am thinking about turning into a real floor plan. Adding all the details needed. The hall has two closets and a bit forward there is the grand staircase and a door to the loggia behind it. A large dining room and a large salon are the two most important rooms. Two large terraces. Bar and library. A second staircse, “semi-grand”, which takes you to the upper floor and the basement. Men’s room and ladie’s room, and the kitchen with a family room.
The master suite has a sitting room, the large bedroom, a WIC and a good-sized bath. The upper floor, still in planning, offers a large hall, a sitting room, terraces towards the water, and several bedrooms, each with ensuites.
Thinking about improving my skills in floor planning. This is not an easy thing to do. But it is great fun to plan and try to fígure out how to just make it right.

Lol. I agree making floorplans is not an easy thing to do at all. But what makes it easier is that you have to think how people live, and how they want to navigate through their house. This seems like a pretty luxurious house. But where is the garage? Lol.
The garage is freestanding, as I think you call it in the US. It is next to the house, like a wing. This is perhaps more popular over here than in the US.
