The Portabello Estate hasn’t had a full post on here so I wanted it to be my first. I drive by this pad at least once a month, as it’s not even in a gated community….despite the $75 million price tag. Yes, it’s overpriced because the owner ignored the market value and basically asked for a recoup of what he paid to build it.
Still, it’s not TOO overpriced considering it’s over 30,000 sq.ft. on 3 premium oceanfront lots. The design is either going to make you fall in love or throw up. People either love it or hate it. I personally LOVE it (well maybe not all the furniture or the stupid sculpture in the entrance) because I’m a major fan of “fluid” design.
8 bd, 10 ba, several pools, a spa that actually bubbles into a roof of a wet bar, waterslide and a downtown recreated. The owner grew up in a small town so he put his movie theater, game room, car and jewelery on display to appear as a small “main street” town. There’s even a diner.

Hello everyone, it’s me Alan again, guest blogging.  I wanted to also share another one of my all-time favorite mega-mansions ever built in the USA.  The house is home to NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal.  He showed this home off on MTV Cribs.  On the episode, MTV said that the home is a massive 64,000 square feet, but most other public records state that the home is only 28,937 square feet, which is still huge!  I think the size is somewhere in between.

One of the cool things inside the home is an indoor basketball court.  The outdoor pool is nicknamed “Shaq-apulco”.  One note of interest is that Michael Jackson tried to purchase the home from O’Neal, but O’Neal said “no thanks.”  The address of the home is:  9927 Giffin Court, Windermere, Florida

Hi, my name is Alan Robinson, and I’m guest blogging today.

This is the newly built mega-home of NBA superstar LeBron James. The pictures don’t show the home finished yet. The address is 4157 Idlebrook Drive, Akron, Ohio. He bought the property and tore down the home that had been there. He started building his dream home, and it was just recently finished. According to articles online, his home is 35,440 square feet, but public records list the home at 30,106. Either way, that is one of the largest ever built in Ohio.

Hello again from Michael. Thought I should return and show you this one.  First I was going to write about this house on my own blog, but thought I should share it with you here instead. 

You find it at 42 Richmond Hill Road in Greenwich.  It’s being built by a national award winning company, but the estate agent does not write which company it is, have no idea why.

 The house will have a nice 2-story library, high-tech security systems and much more for the luxorious lifestyle of the modern Greenwich resident.

Totals approximately 15,000 sq ft. There is also a pool/guest house.

I expected a little more information here, and the lack of it I think is sad. I think it looks like an interesting house, what do you think?
