This 21,000 square foot mansion is located at 8 Sgt Schuwartz Drive, Stony Point, NY. It is owned by Stony Point resident Kevin Maher. He built the home back in 2005 and listed it in 2008 for $8,495,000. Kevin had an original budget of $5 million but wound up spending $7.5 million building it. He unofficially put the home on the market for $6,495,000 a couple months ago, but there was no listing to be found. Now, the home is officially on the market for $6,395,000 and is listed with Sotheby’s Prominent Properties. The amazing mansion contains 10 bedrooms, 9 plus bathrooms, an 8 car garage, billiards room, gentleman’s parlor, wine cellar, 21 seat home theater, custom cherry library, office, spa, and a gym. This home also includes a 3,800 square foot carriage house attached to the main house, which can be accessed via underground tunnel. The property also include a pool with spa and a 2,899 square foot pool house. The home has an astounding $1.2 million worth of hand crafted wood-work.

I have seen the house before, and I like a few things about it. The floor plans are pretty good, too.
Stony Point seems like a good place to live.
This house is absolutely gorgeous, especially inside.
Worth every penny.
i agree with Venom. just wish there were more pics of the grounds and pool. and anyone check out the Realtor?? SMOKIN hot!!
Any one know who the woodworker was?
weird how theres a keyboard instead of a real piano
but im lovin the house
Tony: You’re looking for a trophy wife?
That could work. Plus a house like that, a very good combination for sure!
Before I read anything I thought “Now heres a $5m-$8million dollar home with a ridiculous asking price of $25mil” and I was pleasantly surprised when I read $6.395m, Definitely a great buy at that price and stoney point is lovely, will make a profit
Wow, only a little over $6 million for that!? I see a lot of $20+ million homes that don’t look that nice on the inside. Is the home made of brick, or just wood with veneer? Imagine what you could do with a budget of say $25 million if you want a home designed like that
Not to be a mood breaker, BUT, there are 82 listings in Stony Point. 7 are between 1,000,000. and 1,325,000. Then this house at 6,395,000. This is the most expensive house, OVER 4.8 times more expensive than the next most expensive house on the market. That is not a wise investment. Also the school district the house is in is sub standard and the lowest rated in the area.
The house is very nice but George makes a good point. In most cases the house and land do not make much differance – as we all have heard a million times – in realestate only 3 things matter – LOCATION, LOCATION, and LOCATION. It will be hard to sell a 6 million dollar house in a 1 million dollar neighborhood.
I have seen it here in the Atlanta maket in the Sugarloaf County Club – there is this one awsome house (One of my all time favorites) that first listed in 2007 for 7.5 million dollars (down to 5.6 M now) and it still has not sold. Hard to get someone to pay 7.5 million when the house across the street is only around 850,000 dollars. Here is a link to the virtual tour of the Sugarload house with over 100 pictures:

Absolutely magnificent home.
Well worth going through all of the photos.
Nice home, but IMO too close to other homes and way too open, no trees. I’d want a home nestled around trees, very cozy.
And this house is very generic, if you had the money you could snap your fingers and have it reproduced anywhere in the world. I miss read Stoney point for sands point. I think he over invested on the $1.2mil wood work in THIS house, a misjudgment that will not get a return.
I have been inside this house and when i tell you that its absolutely beyond your imagination in terms of quality and size . Pictures truly do it an injustice. The owner of the home is the builder and master carpenter. It was his dream home. Everything in this house is over sized and top quality.Who ever buys this home couldn’t replicate it for even two million more because he took his time building this home and he truly is a perfectionist in every way. Every single room. bathroom, bedroom ….etc has been finished to the highest standards.
how did you get to go inside the house?!!
The owner of the home is also the master carpenter? What is his source for making $$$? I ask because usually if someone takes the time to be a master carpenter, they don’t make a lot of $$$ because they spent all their time learning the carpentry skills…?
Well like many of the homes of the rich followers, I am addicted to high-end realestate! A very close friend of mine is an agent in the “100 million dollar club” of Sotheby’s. So i am constantly viewing new listings and private showings in and around the tri-state area above 5 million. I took a look at the house back when it was 9.5million and had an in depth tour of the house(with the owner). The very same day i viewed a 25 million dollar home in Alpine that was 20000 + sqft and it couldnt hold a candle to the stony point home.
The more I read the commentts on this house the more I suspect the listing real estate agent is trying to really hype this house.
