frenchchateau

Hey guys. I just spent an hour sketching this home. It is reminiscent of a French chateau. What do you like and dislike about it? Share some of your drawings with us! Email me your drawings and I will be happy to post them.

Hey there… I check out your blog 2-3x week and always enjoy it — I was thinking this is a home that’s not on the MLS – not even sure if it’s still for sale – but the website is AMAZING

I like the details, but I hate how it looks like every other McMansion that’s being built all over the place.

it doesn’t look like alot of the homes being built now. I haven’t seen too many homes with the glass domes

I like the domes and the symmetry of the structure, which I think is very important. My only complaint is this drawing looks too bunched up, in other words, it is too tall for how wide (or long) the house is. That would be fine (necessary) on a smaller lot, but if you have a couple of acres or more, a more sprawling width would look more proportional. What you might do is have a arch to drive through on one side leading to a motor court and garages, then another arch on the other end of the house that leads to a side courtyard, which the rooms in the bigger part of the house can overlook. The far left of the home can be garages and quarters, the far right can be bedrooms or media room, etc….That way, you maintain the symmetry…if you cut the house in half at the front door, both sides look identical.

    Not bad! Looks nice 🙂

I have been working on floor plans and facades that will look a bit like Lynnewood Hall in Pennsylvania, and another one that will look a bit like Winfield Hall in Long Island. Interesting projects 🙂
