Self-made Billionaire and business tycoon Rafik Hariri planned to build the country’s largest residential home. Rafik, who passed away in 2005, was the former prime minister of Lebanon. Back in 2003, he made plans to build a massive 103,667 square foot mega-mansion in Washington D.C’s Foxhall neighborhood. He planned to build the home on a 16 acre tract of land that he bought for $13 million in 1987. Rafik was going to spend an estimated $45 million building the home. It was said that his master bedroom was going to be the size of a football field!

Pictures #1,2 – This Greek style mega-mansion is located on Remington Drive in Barrington, IL. I love the turrets, massive columns, and grand stairs leading to the front entrance!! This home is definitely me!
Picture #3 - This extraordinary tudor style mega-mansion is located off of Brinker Road in Barrington, IL. It is easily over 30,000 square feet.
Picture #4 – This mega-mansion is located on Balata Drive in Ooltewah, TN. You can see how large it is when comparing it to the surrounding homes! The home measures in at just over 20,000 square feet and contains a porte cochere and a swimming pool.
Pictures #5,6 – This mega-mansion is located on Cornwell Farm Road in Great Falls, VA. It contains an 8-car garage (half attached, half detached), a man made lake, formal gardens, a circular motor court, and a large indoor swimming pool.
Pictures #7,8 – This incredible and oddly shaped mega-mansion is located off of Alpaugh Farm Road in Lebanon, NJ. It contains a circular motor court, a 6+ car garage, expansive terraces, and a huge resort style swimming pool with bridge and water slide.

This 27,000 square foot mansion is located at 68 Locust Road in Winnetka, Illinois. It is dubbed Le Grand Reve, which means The Big Dream. It was designed by Landry Design Group. It is owned by Sherwin and Deborah Jarol. Sherwin is a managing partner of Bradley Associates, a real estate investment company. The home is privately on the market for $32 million, which makes it more expensive than the 35,000 square foot, $25 million Villa Taj. It is listed with Sudler Sothebys. The house has 7 bathrooms, 8 fireplaces, and a 4-car garage. The Jarols paid $2.56 million for the property 6 years ago.

The home was originally on the market for $12,000,000 and is now listed at $9,995,000. It is located at 20 Timberline Drive in Alpine, NJ. It contains 7 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, an elevator, 3 kitchens, a 4-room master suite, library, 1st floor media room, gym, home theater, guest quarters, a 7-car garage, a tennis court, and an indoor swimming pool. I don’t think that this home fits them. If I was them, I would buy either this home or this home which are in nearby Saddle River. They are much more nicer inside and only in the $7-$9 million range.
