Yankees pitcher C.C. Sabathia and his wife Amber just closed the deal to buy a $15 million mansion in cash. He got a “good” deal and is now only paying $14.9 million. This reminds me of when Mary J Blige paid $12.9 million in cash for her mansion in Saddle River. C.C’s house was on the market for only two months. The 12,000 square foot mansion has a motor court, three-car garage, 6 bedrooms, and 7.5 bathrooms. It is located on Litchfield Way in Alpine, NJ. C.C has a $161 million contract, so I guess this splurge isn’t really a big deal to him. In my opinion, this home is not worth $15 million as it only has 12,000 square feet. Mary J Blige’s home has 18,000 square feet and cost $2 million less. I think he should have bought this home. C.C bought the home from Pharrell Williams’ manager, Rob Walker. Rob sold the home, because he fell in love with another home that is close by and is in the $15 – 20 million range.

Burr Ridge Mega-Mansion under Construction

This massive 41,000 square foot mega-mansion is under construction on Meadowbrook Drive in Burr Ridge, IL. It is currently the largest home being built in the Chicago area. I love the style of the home and the stairs leading to the front door. You can really get a feel of the home’s size by looking at the last picture. It looks like a mini hotel being built. The home is being built for Nick Memeti, the owner of Freedom Mortgage Team. He is going to live there with his parents. Can you imagine? A 41,000 square foot house just for 3 people! The home’s architect is Rob Kirk of Group A Architects. Nick’s parents purchased the plot of land the home is being built on for $480,000 in 2001. The home will have have two 3-story domed turrets, one with a library and one with a dining room. There will also be a six room master bedroom in the southwest wing, a four room suite for Nick’s parents in the northwest wing, 7 guest suites, an elevator, and a 12-car garage. The tricked out lower level will contain an indoor pool, slot machines, a dance floor, a 30-seat home theater, and a full gym. Nick plans to entertain his 200 employees here and throw numerous parties. The home is expected to be finished soon. It is valued at $15 million. Picture #1 – This huge mansion under construction is located right next to Lionel Richie’s house. It contains a swimming pool with pool house and a tennis court. If anyone knows any more info on this home, please contact me.

Picture #2 - These two mansions are being built on Skyridge and Shoreridge drive in Newport Beach, CA. The tuscan style mansion on the right (1st picture) contains a circular motor court, separate guest house, and a subterranean garage.

Picture #3 - This is the home of successful entrepreneur and author Ron Sturgeon. It is located at 4600 Stafford Drive in Colleyville, TX. He made his fortune from auto salvage and now owns DFW Elite Auto Rental. His 14,000 square foot mansion features a large garage and a 1,000 square foot 2-story library that is filled with toy cars. His home was featured in an episode of Pet Palaces on HGTV.

Pictures #4,5 – All of these homes were built by Waterford Custom Homes. The homes are located on Sugarland Road in Herndon, VA. The first home belongs to the owners of Waterford Custom Homes. The owners, Michael Iacovacci and Debra King, built the 14,000 square foot mansion has a showcase for future clients. Check out their website for floorplans of the homes.

Pictures #6,7 – This 20,000 square foot mansion is located at 1227 Osowaw Blvd in Spring Hill, FL. It is owned by Peter and Nicole Napolitano. The ground level is a massive 8,000+ square foot garage. There is a huge staircase that leads to 2nd floor, which is the living space. This space is 8,800 square feet an contains 5 bedrooms, a wine cellar, and a 30×20 home theater. The grounds of the home include a bridge, two tennis courts, and a guest house.

Picture #8 – This newly built mansion is located on Laurel Lane in Beverly Hills, CA. The home contains a tennis court and a swimming pool with pool house. It is located right next to Leonard Ross’ mega-mansion that was once listed for $165 million.

Two Beverly Hills Mega Mansions under Construction

These two mega-mansions are being constructed on Sunset Boulevard in Beverly Hills. The home on the left is being built for C. Frederick Wehba Sr. Frederick is the founder of Bentley Forbes, a national real estate investment firm. The home measures in at 32,000 square feet. It is being built by Finton Construction. The Beaux-Arts style mansion is being designed by Biglin Architectural Group. The home will have stone floors, 24k gold door and window hardware, an elevator, a home gym with spa, two full kitchens, five coffee bars, seven fireplaces, a huge music room, subterranean parking, a tennis court, and a swimming pool with pool house.

The second mega mansion is also close to 30,000 square feet. I have no other information on this home, so if anyone has any please feel free to email me. Speaking about mega-mansions, businessman Eri Kroh wants to build a 30,000+ square foot mega-mansion in Bel Air. I can’t wait to see the desings for that home!

This 22,000 square foot mansion is one of the grandest homes in Pennsylvania. It is located at 1211 Mirabeau Lane in Gladwyne. The home is listed at $17.9 million.

This waterfront property is located right next to the Upper Straits Lake. The tudor style mega-mansion contains an unbelievable 34,349 square feet. It is valued at $7,040,000.

Pictures #3,4 – This palatial waterfront mansion contains 10,107 square feet that includes 5 bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms. It is located at 3717 Wards Point Drive in West Bloomfield, MI. The home is situated on a gorgeous peninsula style plot and contains a swimming pool and a 4-car garage. It is valued at $2,489,000.

Picture #5 – This ultra modern mansion is located at 3320 Three Lakes Lane in Orchard Lake Village, MI. The 14,500 square foot mansion contains 6 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, and is valued at $5,400,000.

The 14,109 square foot mansion was built in 1988 and bought by Swizz for $1,969,000. This modern home contains 7 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, a swimming pool, a racquetball court, and a basketball court.
