Pop Diva Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon have reportedly put an offer on the Saperstein Mansion known as Fleur de Lys. The home is located in the exclusive Holmby Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. The home has been on the market for a while now and with a mind boggling price tag of $125 million. It is currently the most expensive home on the market in the United States. The home has close to 45,000 square feet of interior living space including a 50 seat home theater and a ballroom. The couple has been in the area for a while trying to find the perfect place to live. They put an undisclosed offer on the house and loved it so much, because there was nothing that needed to be done to it. A while back, a Chinese businessman’s offer of $80 million was rejected. So, I’m guessing that their offer was more than that. Whoever knew Mariah Carey had that much money to splurge? She was listed on the list of Top 20 Richest Women in Entertainment with a net worth of $225 million. I think she is worth way more than that and probably closer to $400 million. As you all know, Mariah Carey also owns a 3-floor penthouse in New York as well as a mansion in the Bahamas.

The entertainment class cracks me up! Businesspeople never have half their NW in their home. California is bizarre.

Just on principle, I wouldn’t sell a home like that to anyone who wasn’t a billionaire. I’m a snob.

I’m thinking its less than a 80,000,000 offer, something more realistic, closer to half the amount of the self-righteous asking price. Plus god knows what she got (or could get), for a 12,000 sq ft Tribeca penthouse.

When Aaron built his estate he was only worth about 350 million. The house at the time cost 50mill to build. Aaron was NEVER a billionaire when he died he was worth about 600 million.

I dont think that the owner of Fleur de Lys will accept any think under 100 million. witch i think is WAY to much for Mariah to handle.

I think this house would be perfect for mariah. Its larger than life and so is she. Not spending half your net worth on a property is a personal decision, look at mainstream society whos net worth IS their home. Even if the property lost all its value and was worthless Mariah would still have enough money to live Lavishly, so get over yourselfs. I love everything about the Flu de lys appart from the interior decor, which would only cost $50mil to fix? Still leaving Mariah a very wealthy woman. And we all know she wouldnt have made an offer anywhere near $125mil. Good on her. Although, I would suspect Suzanne is happy to stay put till well after the recession, however many years that may be, to get her price.

actually mariah is worth close to 400mil and she has signed so many deals this year and started so many businesses that sources are saying that she might just become the richest recording artist in history and nick cannon is worth well over 100mil himself so i think they can afford it

I keep thinking about that video of the woman who was hiding on the top shelf of the closet in some dude’s Manhattan apartment and she would creep out during the night to eat his food.
