This 50,000 square foot mega-mansion used to be the home of Larry House, the former COO of Healthsouth. The French Chateau style mansion sits on 27 acres of land in one of Alabama’s most prestigious neighborhoods. The most impressive feature of this home is the guitar shaped driveway that can be see in an aerial view. The trees lining the driveway represent the chords. The home has a total of 21 bedroms and 22 bathrooms. It also includes a wine cellar, large swimming pool with pool house, a 25-seat movie theater, and a 13-car garage. The home and it’s property had an assessed value of $27 million before being sold for a staggering $3.95 million at a 2-day auction.

This home was built for James Pallotta and his wife Kim. James, a US equities manager for Tudor Investment Corp. and the co-owner of the Boston Celtics, made an astounding $200 million in 2005. The home was originally supposed to be 28,000 square feet, but the high price tag spurred a scale down. The 20 room, 21,000 suqare foot home is located on 27.5 acres of land and located between Ash and Wellesley Streets. The georgian style mansion has taken two years to build and cost $21,000,000. On the first floor, there is a a four-car garage, a sunroom, a family room, a beautiful wood-paneled kitchen, a dining room with seating for 14, a breakfast room, a high-tech home office, and a formal living room. The second floor is split up into two sections. The first section contains 4 bedrooms, 2 of which are for their two sons. The second half contains the lavish master retreat with a master bath, sitting room, two walk-in closets, and an exercise room. The The homes lower level includes a 12-seat home theater, game room, music room, and a wine cellar with two seperate wings. The home’s grounds include a 50ft by 20ft inground swimming pool, a cabana with kitchen and bath, and a carriage house with eight garage doors to store Jim’s muscle car collection.

It has a 16-car attached garage.The Bahre Estate compound is valued at $75 million. Bob also wants to build a 50,469 square foot building on the property. As a car collector, he has amassed a collection of 70 antique cars. So, he needs a place to store them. The first two floors would each be 19,329 square feet and the third floor would be 11,811 square feet. 17,208 out of the 50,469 square feet would be used to display his cars. The remaining square footage (2 full floors) would be used for residential purposes.
